The Romanian IT sector has been expanding rapidly in the last years and according to A.T. Kearney research agency this country is not stopping in his way to the top as the most wanted country for software outsourcing development.
In the 2016 ranking Romania has significantly improved its position as an IT outsourcing (ITO) hub moving up 5 positions. Currently, it ranks 13 and makes it to Top 15 best countries for global services delivery.
A.T. Kearney has released the 7th edition of their Global Services Location Index 2016. After evaluating 55 countries across the 3 major categories: financial attractiveness, people skills and availability, and business environment, the research agency has concluded that the success of Romania market is based on “a deep pool of skilled IT workers to draw on”.
According to the Employers’ Association of the Software and Service Industry in Romania, large international IT companies currently operate approximately 50 centers, most of them BPO and IT-related.
More than 50 000 Romanians work in the outsourcing industry in the major centers like Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca and other cities form Transylvania region.
Some of the benefits of outsourcing to Romania are:
* More simplified legal and financial issues – Romania is a EU member state
* Geographical location – The country is easy to reach with 2-3 hours flight from most of Europe’s capitals
* Multilingual skills – almost 90% of the Romanian IT professionals speak English, and a very large number also is fluent in German, French and Italian.
* Technical expertise – the IT professionals in Romania are highly skilled in a wide range of leading edge technologies like PHP, mobile, .NET, Java, etc.
